How the pricing table works

The Google I / O, which will start this evening in the United States with an inaugural conference scheduled for 7 p.m., should be partly devoted to Android 13. Remember that the new version of the operating system, mentioned by the Mountain View company from last winter, had been available for a few weeks in Developer Preview (first beta) on Google Pixel smartphones, but could not be installed on third-party terminals. Never mind: OnePlus today announces the integration of a first smartphone from its stable into the Android 13 Developer Preview program.

The OnePlus 10 Pro

It is therefore the OnePlus 10 Pro that has been selected. The first beta of Android 13 can be installed there manually, an operation that the manufacturer does not recommend either to neophytes or to its customers using the device daily, as malfunctions have already been identified. Among them, problems with the general stability of the system, the impossibility of moving documents in “My Files”, or even difficulties in operating certain applications… not to mention the risk of to brick (block) simply the terminal. The more daring will be able to try the installation anyway by following the instructions given in this publication on the OnePlus forum, which foreshadows the extension of the Developer Preview program to other devices.

Android 13, let’s remember, for the time being offers very discreet new features, mainly cosmetic changes to the interface. Various betas, more stable and enriched with new options over the months, are expected by the release of the OS, which will probably take place in the fall of 2022.
