Android 13 (OxygenOS 13) rollout is lagging

OnePlus has greatly improved on the deployment of new versions of OxygenOS, its interface based on Android 13. But six months after the deployment of Android 13 (OxygenOS 13) on its OnePlus 10 Pro, several users complain that they still do not not have access to it.

The OnePlus 10 Pro was the first OnePlus smartphone to see the arrival of OxygenOS 13 in September 2022, the brand’s interface based on Android 13. If we thought that the brand’s models would switch to ColorOS, this is not the case: the brand identity is still present, at least symbolically, as its software interface looks a lot like Oppo’s.

Despite a deployment started in September 2022, the wait is long for some users. As reported Android Policea thread on the OnePlus community page details the expectation of customers since September 2022.»

An update to OxygenOS 13 that is long overdue

The first stable update to OxygenOS 13 was released on September 20. A few days later, an update of OxygenOS 12 (based on Android 12 therefore), was deployed with a fix for the manufacturer’s users in North America, Europe and India, among others.

Netizen Bobbie63 adds that three days later, OnePlus started shipping OxygenOS 13 to those same markets, but excluding users who had updated to OxygenOS 12 just before. A user took the opportunity to publicly address the brand and demand accountability for the concerns of updates. For the moment, OnePlus has not reacted to its publication on the forum.

In fact, OnePlus rolled out an update to OxygenOS 12 and another to OxygenOS 13 almost at the same time to OnePlus 10 Pro owners. A problem recognized by the manufacturer on October 21: he took the opportunity to announce the latest update to his interface under Android 12. According to him, this was an intentional and completely normal fact. In fact, this allows incremental Android 13 updates to be pushed while ensuring a secure and major bug-free Android 12.

OnePlus 10 Pro users not reassured

However, many OnePlus 10 Pro have not yet been able to update to OxygenOS 13. But as our colleagues from Android Policethe company said this week that it was still updating OnePlus 10 Pro units ‘in batches’ in all three regions as well as global units to OxygenOS 13“.

The problem is that a number of users have been left in the dark about the reasons for this two-speed rollout. This is all the more so since there are fewer and fewer security patches on OxygenOS 12, which further exposes OnePlus 10 Pro owners.
