Android 14 replaces the good old copy and paste with a much more modern solution

Android 14 will therefore allow navigation at the same time as drag and drop. This simple possibility opens up a myriad of uses and even makes it possible to do without the good old copy-paste.

Good old copy-paste is over. From Android 14, Google should integrate a new and very effective functionality into its smartphone operating system.

iOS integrates a similar solution since iOS 15. It is a drag and drop system. A video posted on Twitter by Nail Sadykov, the manager of the widely followed Telegram Google News, shows how it works.

Looks like Android 14 will finally let you use system navigation while you’re dragging & drop items.

That is, you can take a photo or text from one app, open another app and drop it there.
(Previously, this was only possible in split screen.)

The idea is very simple: drag and drop already existed on Android, but until now, you could only use it on a specific app, or between two apps open in split screen. From now on, we should be able to navigate with one hand while holding an object, a piece of text or an image with the other.

The Pixel Tablet is just right

We can already imagine the professional uses (including in our professions here in Frandroid) that this simple addition can have. Integration with book-style folding smartphones, with their taskbar, also promises to be very pleasant.

Such a feature comes in the right timing, considering that Google is launching its first tablet in a long time, the Pixel Tablet. Indeed, with a larger screen size, a drag and drop seems easier to use
