One of the main new features deployed with Android 14 seems to be causing havoc with users.
On October 4, Google finally made its Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro official. And, this year, the Mountain View giant took advantage of the launch of its new flagships to simultaneously publish the latest version of its operating system.
If Android 14 does not bring revolutionary new features, there is nevertheless one that manages to arouse the interest of AI and personalization enthusiasts.
Android 14: when AI comes to the party
You may not know it, but the latest version of Android includes a wallpaper generator based on artificial intelligence. With this feature, Google wants to expand the possibilities in terms of personalization, and thus offer its users new ways to express their desires of the moment.
As reported by the site ZDNetAndroid 14’s generative wallpaper tool, in addition to being accessible to everyone, seems particularly effective.
If it still has some limitations, and therefore does not (yet) allow you to generate images from your own keywords, the Generative AI function of Android 14 offers enough options for you to find the wallpaper of your dreams.

Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro: Here’s how to generate wallpapers in Android 14
For now, only Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro owners can benefit from this functionality directly integrated into the operating system. But, while waiting for it to be deployed on a larger scale, here is a list of some steps to follow to take advantage of it on your newly released Google smartphone:
- In your smartphone settings, choose: “Wallpaper and style”. You can also access it by long-pressing on your wallpaper;
- then select “More wallpapers”, then choose: “Create wallpaper with AI”;
- select the style you want to give to your future wallpaper from the different options: mineral, imaginary, texture, paint or x-ray;
- proceed to add a few keywords from a long list of proposals and press “Create wallpaper”;
- wait a few seconds and select the wallpaper you prefer, or start again if none of the suggestions suit you.
If you don’t feel very inspired for your new wallpaper, know that Google has thought of you by implementing a little “Inspire me” button. Its main function is simply to generate a random wallpaper for you. Who knows, maybe you’ll find what you’re looking for?
