Many Android Auto users are reporting issues with the app. Due to a bug, Android Auto’s icons all become huge and take up a lot of space on their vehicle’s in-car screen. This prevents the application from working properly.
Users ofAndroid-Auto currently experiencing several small problems. Last month, the Google Maps application got stuck in dark mode for no reason on Android Auto. The GPS application was then very difficult to follow and the users concerned had to be patient with difficulty. Today, several Android Auto users reported another issue with the app. Icons get too big and take up half of the screen.
This again makes navigation within the application very difficult, if not almost impossible. One more problem for Android Auto, which we remind you, recently closed its doors in its mobile version. Google thus wishing to proceed in this way to migrate the few remaining survivors on its Assistantwhich supports similar functionality.
Android Auto icons are too big, the bug makes the app unusable
This bug, which affects several users of the application, has been notified on popular forums such as Reddit or on official forums dedicated to users of Google applications. Concretely, the problem therefore manifests itself with the icons of the application which become enormous and take up all the space on the screen. Thereby, the other icons no longer even have the necessary space to also appear on the screen. And users end up with only four or five giant icons on their screen.
Google has become well aware of the problem following numerous complaints from users. But the tech giant has not yet communicated on this problem. Probably because few users actually use this mode, and also because the problem does not seem to be widespread in the firm’s other ecosystems. The bug could be related to Android 12, and some users claim they managed to fix it by downgrading to older versions of the app.
