Google obviously took advantage of CES 2024 to lift the veil on the new features to come regarding Android Auto.

New for Android Auto in 2024
Indeed, directly from Android Auto, the software will be able to plan a route, taking into consideration data relating to the battery charge level. This will notably allow Android Auto to plan the stops to be made along the route.
Android Auto will also be able to favor the most powerful terminals to minimize charging time, and will also indicate what the remaining autonomy will be once you arrive at your destination.
Google specifies, however, that these new features will first be deployed at Ford, with the Mustang Mach-E and the F-150 Lightning in sight, before arriving on other models.
New bonus apps (and Chrome!)
Furthermore, from now on, Google indicates that it is possible to send the route planned on Google Maps on your Android or iOS phone directly to a car running Android Auto, this allows you to move seamlessly from planning to navigation .
Added to this is the arrival of new applications on board, starting with the Chrome browser, which is first available at Polestar and Volvo. For children, Android Auto hosts PBS Kids, but also Crunchyroll, available directly from the Android Auto store. Finally, ” by popular demand » indicates Google, it is The Weather Channel which is making a place for itself on the system.
Currently, these new features concern the American market. It remains to be seen when these will arrive in France.
