Android malware detected in Google Play Store: Apps downloaded over 3 million times


The malware has so far been detected in at least eight Android applications on the Play Store, which have been downloaded more than three million times. The good thing is that almost all of these applications are no longer available on the Play Store – except for two.

Autolyco’s specialty is forcing users to subscribe to premium services. Microsoft recently warned users about this practice. According to them, this malware is one of the most common threats to Google OS. Typically, it uses an infected device to connect to the payment pages of a paid service and forces the user to subscribe to paid content and add the cost to the phone bill.
