After getting a little makeover, the Android mascot now has a name.
Remember, last September, Google gave its Android logo a lick of paint. If some changes were made to the font, it was especially the famous Bugdroid that caught our attention. Yes, it now has a 3D look and can even take on several appearances.
As part of CES 2024, the Mountain View firm took the opportunity to unveil the official name of its little green mascot.
The Android mascot does indeed have a name (and it’s not Bugdroid)
What could be the new name of our robotic friend? This is a question that is surely bothering you… Before answering it, let’s remember that the name “Bugdroid”, often used by users to describe the little mascot of Google’s operating system, was, in reality, not a official name.
In a blog article published a few days ago, the American company officially gave its robot a name. From now on, forget about Bugdroid, as Google has confirmed that its mascot is called “The Bot”.
If this new name seems somewhat generic, particularly following the efforts made by Google to reinforce the personality of its now multifaceted mascot, it is indeed the official name chosen by its fathers to accompany the Android brand during the years to come.
Now let’s hope that your relationship with “The Bot” will not be damaged, especially after all these years spent with him, and that you will manage to get used to this new name.
