We almost get used to it: a new burst of infected applications has been identified in the Play Store. A total of 26 Android applications are affected while two new malware have been spotted: CherryBlos and FakeTrade

And yes again, you will have to scroll down your list of applications installed on your Android smartphone to make sure that one of them does not appear in the lists below.

The publisher specializing in computer security Trend Micro reports on its official website to have discovered two families of malware: one used to steal your cryptocurrencies, the other to spread scam campaigns.

Cherryblos was deployed via social networks with messages directing Internet users to download infected applications. Once installed on the smartphone, the malware is able to retrieve your logins and passwords from your cryptocurrency wallets while replacing the receiving address when you make a withdrawal.

On his side FakeTrade promotes fake e-commerce platforms by promising internet users to earn money. They are invited to multiply sponsorship actions (sharing posts, sharing emails, etc.). Of course, the victims will never see these gains.

The CherryBlos malware can be found in these 4 following applications:

  • GPTalk
  • Happy Miner
  • robot 999
  • SynthNet

The FakeTrade malware can be found in these 22 following applications:

  • WADA
  • BB Shop
  • Canyon
  • home
  • Send
  • Fair
  • FIRETOSS
  • gobuy
  • GoDo
  • goshop
  • Huge
  • Koofire
  • Leefire
  • moshop
  • NtBuy
  • Onefire
  • papaya
  • Saya
  • Smartz
  • Upwork

  • youtech

Google has taken the necessary steps to remove them from the Play Store.
