Android users can rejoice: Google puts an end to many app annoyances

There are also innovations in app permissions. Applications that are specifically aimed at people with disabilities often bypass certain security measures in order to make them easier to use. In the future, the use of the FLAG_SECURE mode will be mandatory. This prevents, among other things, the recording of screenshots. In addition, no data displayed on the screen while this mode is active may be shared by the relevant apps outside the device.

Two other changes primarily affect children and families. Developers of so-called stalkerware, which can be used to monitor children, will in future have to provide detailed information on data usage in the Play Store. They must also use the new IsMonitoringTool flag in the metadata. This allows the system to recognize such monitoring tools more easily.

There are also new regulations for apps that are in any way aimed at children. In particular, it is usually about advertising in these applications. These rules come into effect on November 1st.
