After a two-year break due to Corona, Anga Com (May 10th to 12th, 2022) will take place again this year in the Cologne exhibition halls. There are several summit discussions and events with speakers from Deutsche Telekom, DAZN and Telefónica, for example. Numerous exhibitors are also represented. For example, the Berlin company AVM is making the journey to the Rhine to present the latest FritzBoxes and FritzRepeaters. The manufacturer has announced the market launch of a new router in advance: the top-of-the-range fiber optic model FritzBox 5590 Fiber is now commercially available.
FritzBox 5590 Fiber: New fiber optic top model
The FritzBox 5590 Fiber is suitable for connections where the fiber optic ends up directly in the router and, thanks to the integrated modem, supports Internet access via GPON, AON and XGS-PON. When downloading, it reaches an Internet speed of up to 10,000 megabits per second (Mbps). In Germany, the fastest tariffs for private customers are currently up to 1,000 Mbps. Thanks to the current WLAN standard Wifi 6 (WLAN-ax), the 5590 theoretically achieves up to 2,400 Mbps in the 5 gigahertz frequency band and up to 1,200 Mbps per 2.4 gigahertz. The router is available now and costs 289 euros. At Anga Com 2022, visitors can take a look at the new fiber optic top model.
More AVM innovations at the fair
At Anga Com 2022, AVM will be presenting its current range of routers and repeaters in addition to the FritzBox 5590 Fiber. The new cable top model FritzBox 6690 Cable, the current DSL device FritzBox 7590 AX and the FritzBox 4060 with its three WLAN radio units are also included. The mesh repeaters FritzRepeater 6000 and 1200 AX can also be seen. Very interesting: AVM gives visitors a preview of the next major firmware version FritzOS 7.50, which will bring new functions for the first time since FritzOS 7.25 and will be released in the coming months.
