Queen Elizabeth II welcomed Chancellor Angela Merkel to a private audience at Windsor Castle in a good mood.
Chancellor Angela Merkel (66) and the British Queen Elizabeth II (95) met at Windsor Castle in bright summer colors and with an equally radiant smile on their lips. In a floral dress, the 95-year-old even received the outgoing Chancellor for a private audience – really not a matter of course in times of the corona pandemic.
The last time Merkel was received by the Queen there was in 2014, and the following year the monarch traveled to the German capital of Berlin. Merkel had also met British Prime Minister Boris Johnson (57) during her current visit to Great Britain, which will probably be her last as incumbent Chancellor.
