Angela Merkel (66), after consulting with the Prime Minister, called on citizens to forego private celebrations entirely and, if possible, to significantly reduce personal contacts. The countries are also calling for appropriate steps to be taken to contain the pandemic. However, new mandatory regulations have not yet been adopted.
The Prime Ministers and the Chancellor would like to reassess the current situation in the coming week at another conference on November 25th. It cannot be ruled out that further restrictions may then arise. "You can't say today what's going to happen next week," said Merkel, among other things.
