Chancellor Angela Merkel answered questions from Marietta Slomka about the extension of the shutdown on Friday in "heute journal" (ZDF).
The federal and state governments have agreed to extend the shutdown until March 7th. This renewed postponement of the opening raises many questions: "About opening perspectives, assessing the danger posed by the virus variants, and cooperation between the federal and state governments in coping with the pandemic," as ZDF summarizes in a program announcement.
Chancellor Angela Merkel (66) asked these questions from presenter Marietta Slomka (51) on Friday (February 12th). The conversation can be seen from 10 pm on "heute journal" (ZDF), excerpts from it will be shown on the news program "heute" at 7 pm.
