In the divorce dispute between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, both parties are said to have taken an important step towards each other.

The bitter divorce dispute between Brad Pitt (60) and Angelina Jolie (48) could be nearing its end. According to TMZ, both stars have taken “one of the last important steps toward a divorce agreement.”

Big progress: Both parties are said to have submitted financial documents

The usually well-informed celebrity site claims to have court documents indicating that both Pitt and Jolie have provided the other party with their final financial records. According to TMZ, there had previously been no movement in the case for several years. This would bring an end to one of the bitterest divorce battles in recent Hollywood history, it is said. However, the final terms for a comprehensive agreement have not yet been submitted.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie met on the set of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” in 2004. In the action-romance comedy, they played a pair of hitmen who are determined to kill each other. A year after filming, Brad Pitt separated from his wife Jennifer Aniston (54), with whom he had been married since 2000. Shortly afterwards, Pitt and Jolie got together, and a year later Jolie announced her pregnancy. However, the couple only got engaged in 2012 and married in 2014. However, the marriage didn’t last long.

Divorce dispute has already lasted eight years

In 2016, Jolie filed for divorce due to “irreconcilable differences”, and since then the ex-spouses have been fighting fiercely in court over custody of the six children Maddox (22), Pax (20), Zahara (19), Shiloh (17) and the twins Knox and Vivienne (15). The division of assets and a shared winery in France are other points of contention that have made the ex-couple headlines for years.
