In “Eternals” Angelina Jolie embodies a Marvel superhero for the first time. In an interview, she reveals what her six children think of it.

With her role as the mighty warrior Thena in “Eternals” (from November 3rd in the cinema) Angelina Jolie (46) has now officially arrived in the Marvel universe. “It was an honor for me to be part of this cast. I love our family,” enthused the Hollywood star in an interview with the news agency spot on news. The actress and her colleagues were happy to be “part of the whole”.

This is how their children reacted

Her six children, Shiloh (15), Zahara (16), Vivienne (13), Maddox (20), Knox (13) and Pax (17), some of whom accompanied her to the film premieres, are also from the new film project Mother was thrilled. “My kids always see me as a mom. I think it’s naturally exciting for most kids to find out that their mom is part of the Marvel Universe,” Jolie recalls. However, it was also “strange” for her, after all, it was about “her own mother”, who suddenly belonged to the notorious MCU.

Playing a superhero was a “physical challenge” for Jolie. For the embodiment of Eternal Thena, who shines above all with fighting skills, quick reflexes, strength and speed, Jolie even completed “ballet training”. “I liked my superpowers. I like being able to make every kind of weapon myself and being a good fighter,” she enthuses.

At the same time, she is a fan of Don Lee’s (50) character Gilgamesh, also an Eternal. He and Thena have a close friendship throughout the story. “I loved playing with Don and fighting with him. I’m a huge fan of his work. It was really good fun filming with Don,” explains Jolie. Don Lee, on the other hand, particularly liked the ability to control the thoughts of others. “That way I can get people to watch ‘Eternals’ over and over again,” the actor jokes in an interview with spot on news.

Is the Marvel chapter already closed?

Both are sure that the chapter “superheroes” is not yet closed. “I think we’ll definitely play a superhero again,” says Lee. Jolie agrees: “We’d love to return. We hope the fans will like us and accept us well at the MCU. I think if that is the case, Marvel will bring us back.”

This is what “Eternals” is about

The Eternals, a group of heroines and heroes from the depths of the universe, have been protecting the earth since the dawn of mankind. When the Deviants, monstrous creatures long thought to be lost, return, the Eternals are forced to join forces again. But Sersi (Gemma Chan, 38), Ikaris (Richard Madden, 35), Ajak (Salma Hayek, 55), Thena (Angelina Jolie), Druig (Barry Keoghan, 29), Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani, 43) Phastos ( Brian Tyree Henry, 39), Gilgamesh (Don Lee), Makkari (Lauren Ridloff, 43) and Sprite (Lia McHugh, 14) who defend people?
