While the divorce of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt continues to make headlines, this does not prevent the star from maintaining a close relationship with her six children. A year ago, to everyone’s surprise, the actress announced that she was going to produce a musical on Broadway, The Outsiders – a project on which his daughter Vivienne played the role of volunteer assistant. Very invested, the very protective mother revealed that her daughter was no stranger to her decision. Indeed, Vivienne is a fan of this musical comedy written by a 14-year-old teenager, to the point of having invited her mother to come see it with her. As Angelina Jolie told Deadline on June 10, it was a way for Vivienne, who has now become “a complex young woman”, of “reveal things to him about herself”.
The actress was very attentive when discovering the show, in order to understand what touched Vivienne in this musical, which speaks particularly to the young girl who will celebrate her 16th birthday on July 12. “I think it’s because [The Outsider] has a lot of depth and authenticity, and doesn’t shy away from touching on difficult feelings and topics.” explained the star. Evoking the themes of the show, which openly address young people’s questions about their identity and their place in the world, but also marginalization and suicide, Angelina Jolie concluded: “I think that for a lot of young people, especially these days, times are difficult, and they need to talk about it, to know what allows them to overcome the challenges of life.”

Vivienne Jolie: a future director?
As part of this same interview, the director of the musical, Danya Taymor, was full of praise for the work of young Vivienne, hired by her mother in the role of volunteer assistant. Stressing that Angelina Jolie herself had invested a lot, both in terms of staging and supporting the young actors in the show, Danya Taymor paid many compliments to the woman who must now simply be called Vivienne Jolie : “She was so invested, so curious. She watched the show and made very insightful observations: she has an eye, it’s incredible. They both supported us wonderfully, which helped make the show better.” Perhaps a future career in sight for the young woman?
