Anger of farmers, increase in taxes…“We must bring down this government”, declares Fabien Roussel

At the microphone of Sonia Mabrouk, the national secretary of the PCF did not mince his words. While the farmers continue their actions this Tuesday to obtain “concrete measures”, the PCF deputy declares “support the farmers 100%”. “Give the money back to the farmers, give them back the money you take from them,” declared Fabien Roussel, inveighing against the government. According to the national secretary of the PCF, the increase in national road gas, free trade treaties, international ultra-competition have today raised the anger of farmers to its peak.

Convergence of anger

If this mobilization were to amplify, the MP calls for a convergence of struggles with farmers: “They shape our landscapes and we must give them our support. If they call on the French to come and support them, I will do so, we will do it.”

“Farmers feed us. They must live from their work and we must create the conditions so that they can transform their mode of production and at the same time receive a salary that makes the profession attractive again,” he said. added.

“Take down this government”

By raising the tax on national road gas, used mainly by farmers for tractors, by adding an additional tax on gasoline and by increasing electricity prices, “the government has lit the fire”, details the MP .

“I do not want to see my country in flames and blood. I want the government to create the conditions for a peaceful country where the French can live from their work and regain their purchasing power. This government is doing just the opposite . Mr. Attal’s first announcements are to increase the electricity bill, medical franchises and therefore to penalize the farmers. When I talk about a convergence of anger, it is because I want to put immense pressure on this new government.” , continues Fabien Roussel.

In the National Assembly, the MP invites the new Prime Minister to “submit his general policy speech to a vote” and calls for a motion of censure if the government refuses it. “I challenge all MPs. If we are against this increase in electricity bills, against this increase in medical deductibles, against the return of the tax on GNR, I call on all MPs to vote on the motion of censure, to vote against the general policy speech”.

“The government persists in increasing taxes on the French. Well, we must bring down this government!”, concludes the MP.
