In Animal Crossing New Horizons it is possible to buy bushes, since April 2020, which only bloom at different times of the year. You can buy these bushes from Racine who will be in the town hall square from time to time or permanently once installed on Joe’s Island, since the 2.0 update. They can be planted everywhere on your island, but you should nevertheless avoid putting them too close to the cliffs, infrastructures and paths that you may have created with Terraforming. Note that you cannot plant more than 12 in a row, it’s the same system as for trees. Otherwise, your bush will no longer produce a flower.
How to grow bushes?
Once the bag of seeds is in your inventory, select it to be able to plant it and then water it. A young shoot of a bush will put 4 days to mature and start producing flowers. If you want to dig up a shoot to put it somewhere else, or an entire bush, use your shovel.
- Note that it is important to plant a few to get one of the Miles achievements in the game, so don’t hesitate!
- Hybridization between bushes is not possible to obtain other colors.
Each bush costs 280 Bells for the purchase of a single sprout at Racine, or 1400 Bells for the purchase of a pack of 5 bush sprouts. You can also buy bushes from Racine when visiting other islands for a potentially different selection.
There are 13 different bushes or shrubs that you can grow in total in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, including 7 unique types with color variants for most bushes.
The list of available bushes and their blooms
Of course, just like fish and insects, flowering bushes are different depending on the northern or southern hemisphere.
