As you know, Animal Crossing New Horizons will probably only receive no more updates or paid DLCs. Of course, we are not immune to a small surprise update with some furniture, but we must not hope for the impossible either and consider today that ACNH is well and truly over. This does not mean that you can no longer enjoy the game in its current state, quite the contrary! But knowing that some things in the title’s data will never deploy (like the second floor of the Nook Store) is a little frustrating…just like that.features that were present at launch and have disappeared over the course of updates.
In truth, it was basically the big November 2021 2.0 update that shook up the title somewhat. Adding tons of new furniture, the long-awaited Robusto and its Café, Admiral’s mystery islands or even vegetables to grow… The update and the DLC were welcomed as they should be and allowed us to live for many more hours of play. This great upheaval therefore essentially added new features but also removed some functions that were there when the title was launched.
Hybrid Island
No you are not dreaming: yes this island did exist, it was not the fruit of your imagination. Today impossible to find, it has simply been deleted from ACNH and you will never be able to come across this magnificent island filled with shimmering flowers. Its disappearance dates from 2020, during an update and that is why few players and players know it. Those who were able to visit it only dreamed of one thing: its return in 2.0 thanks to the mystery islands of Admiral. Unfortunately, this was not the case.
nature day
With the 2.0 update and the establishment of Racine as a fixed trader on Joe’s Island, the event that allowed the character to be introduced was removed. You would think this would make sense for all players who have ever done Nature Day the first time around, but many people have never experienced it, even in 2021. Especially since it would have been very simple to adapt this annual event simply by changing a few lines of dialogue. If you look closely, there are very few fixed events on ACNH and that’s a shame.
Nature Day took place from April 23 to May 4, 2020 on the Town Hall Square. It allowed to meet Racine for the first time, to buy bushes from him (introduced via the 1.2.0 update) but above all to participate in special missions Nook Miles +! Tom Nook even offered us the bush fence for the occasion.
Other changes
A little more minimal, here are some changes that have been made to the game without your knowledge:
- Before 2.0, it was possible to scan its Amiibo cards of former NPCs via the Nook Stop terminal at the Residents’ Office. This had the effect of obtaining a new dialogue with characters like Resetti, Antoine or even Max. From now on, there is no longer any dialogue and the terminal simply tells you that it is impossible to invite them to your Campsite. Luckily, to compensate for this, you can now invite the special characters into Robusto’s cafe and see them in person enjoy a nice espresso as well as talk to them.
- Before 2.0, the museum could be changed 3 times : we started from the small tent of Thibou to then obtain a beautiful museum in brown stones and finally the final museum with the Art Gallery. From now on, we go directly from the tent to the final museum.
- Thanks to a glitch, it is possible before decorate (place furniture) on the third cliff level of your island.
Two years later, let’s go back to the features that are still missing in Animal Crossing New Horizons, despite the 2.0 content update and the Happy Home Paradise DLC.
