We can empathize only too well in Corona times: this Corgi falls exuberantly around the necks of all other dogs he meets while walking.
How long has it been since we just fell carefree around someone else's neck? Weeks? Months? In times of the corona pandemic, you can no longer greet your best friend with a spontaneous hug – unless you are a dog. In any case, Wallace the Corgi does without social distancing – and hugs his best canine friends as warmly as he can when he meets them.
A real heart dog
The owners of the little corgi show on Instagram how the one-year-old dog blooms again and again while walking – but not with every dog. "He loves to cuddle and to distribute hugs and kisses", so his favorite person opposite the portal "Bored Panda". "He ONLY hugs friends and family. He doesn't hug strange dogs." So not a hidden power game that the Corgi is playing? His owner denies that: "I want to make it clear that he doesn't want to show dominance when he does that. It's really just love with him."
Careful gesture of friendship
This is why Wallace is particularly careful with his greetings, because not every dog likes to be hugged by him so suddenly. "His little cousin Milo is a Cavapoo. He doesn't hug her because she gets scared. Instead, he kisses her to greet her," said Wallace's owner. In addition, Wallace generally does not "attack" smaller dogs with his hugs, but first greets them with a careful sniff to see whether they are receptive to his special greeting. Only with his bigger friends does the little corgi immediately jump fearlessly onto their hind paws and fall around their necks – they are not afraid of him either.

And how did this unusual dog greeting come about? Wallace's owner isn't sure about that either – the little corgi spontaneously fell on his canine friend Charlie's neck one day and hasn't wanted to stop since then. "We think it's a laughing stock," says its owner. "But we are of course also happy to see how happy he is making the people around him."
