Ankama announces Krosfighter, Dofus crossover party game at Visitor of the Future

Ankama leaving turn-based… that’s not common. Krosfighter will be an attempt, developed in partnership with the brand new studio Doryah Games. The idea? A party game, fun, fast, with licenses from Krosmoz… and beyond.

Krosfighter: A crossover “shooter” party for Ankama licenses

After One More Gate, a new game around Krosmoz is coming to PC and Nintendo Switch. This marks the end of a long continuity of Turn-by-Turn modes for Ankama, as well as the start of a collaboration with Doryah Games. This will be the first game for the young studio, whose premises are now also located in Roubaix.

Krosfighter is, according to the official description, a “party shooter/game”. 2 to 4 characters compete simultaneously in arenas, with a shooting system for combat and different rounds to progress. The specificity here is the use of 14 figures from Krosmoz and the Ankama universe (Editions, Animations) for its roster. You will thus find Poil (Dragon Princess), Sherlock Holmes, Seth (Radiant) or the Visitor from the future.

The game is spiced up by successive rounds allowing players to receive blessings according to their ranking. An emphasis is placed on accessibility, with the desire to allow everyone to maintain score-wise throughout the rounds.

From an artistic direction point of view, Krosfighter borrows many resources from Waven or Dofus (2 Unity?). In addition to the settings, the characters and gods themselves respect the proportions when they are not direct recycling from previous games. The idea here seems much more to use Ankama licenses in order to offer gameplay. All that remains is to discover it, controller in hand.

Depending on when you are viewing this article, a demo may be available. In this case, you can download it via Steam or the Ankama Launcher. A Nintendo Switch version should also appear. The release date is currently early 2024in January.
