Anke Engelke dares and obviously likes it. She rarely speaks openly about her love life and how much she loves getting married.

Anke Engelke, 58, gave personal insights into her love life and her attitude towards marriage in an interview with “NZZ am Sonntag”. Despite two failed marriages, she doesn’t regret her decisions and generally sees marriage positively. The comedienne thinks: “If people say that they would skip getting married because it involves failure, that would be terrible.” She thinks getting married is “great.”

She has been divorced twice herself

Engelke has three children from her two marriages, both of which lasted over ten years. Her first marriage to musician Andreas Grimm, 61, produced her daughter Emma, 27. The sons Lasse, 18, and Aaron, 14, come from her second marriage to musician Claus Fischer, 58. Engelke has been single since separating from Fischer in May 2015. The all-rounder mostly keeps her love life and her children out of the public eye.

Even in her podcast with Riccardo Simonetti, 30, Engelke is more open than we know her to be. She talks about feelings and private events in a completely carefree manner. For example, about the fear of being written off professionally during all three of her pregnancies. This fits with her statement that “communicating and sharing” is an important driving force for her. With her podcast partner Riccardo Simonetti, whom she met on Joko Winterscheidt’s, 44, “Who steals the show from me” – and with whom she not only her career in showbiz, but also a very reflective, honest and yet mostly positive view of it Life and her job connect – she talks about her own experiences in the spotlight and privately.

Anke Engelke loves love

In the NZZ interview, Anke also commented on love, she said: “Love is simply great.” Not an unusual statement for fans of the podcast, as Anke Engelke supports and celebrates every form of love. Her description of her own childhood also suggests that her children grew up with a lot of love from their fathers despite their mother’s divorce. Anke says in the interview that she “received an incredible amount of love” from her parents.
