Life for Anna Heiser with her Gerald in Namibia was particularly difficult at first. Today she has found a new home there.

She thought about giving up several times, but Anna Heiser (33) didn’t let all the setbacks and difficulties get her down. She reports on this in an emotional Instagram post. Today she and her husband Gerald lead a happy life in Namibia.

“The beginning was difficult”

In particular, the beginning after meeting the two in the RTL dome show “Bauer sucht Frau” in 2017 was “very turbulent”. “We were carried by the current of events – big emotions, quick engagement, secret marriage five months after meeting, Gerald’s illness, love at a distance, moving to the other side of the world, two more weddings and all in the company of cameras.” , Heiser recalls. At the beginning of 2018, Gerald Heiser made it public that he had been diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome.

They both had full-time jobs “and somehow no way to think about everything that happened. We both clung to the feeling that we belonged to each other without really knowing each other,” Anna Heiser continues. The morning after the Polish wedding of the two, she sat with her mother on the terrace, was “completely overwhelmed” and cried. She was afraid of the future – and whether it was the right decision for her.

Anna Heiser emphasizes again: “The beginning was difficult. More than once I was about to throw in the towel and move back to Germany.” Despite having a man by her side, she felt lonely in his native Namibia and could not cope with being financially dependent on him as she had been working since she was 16.

Anna Heiser listened to her gut feeling

Today she knows: “But it was worth biting through! Over time, I’ve made myself financially independent [einen] I have built up my own circle of friends and I feel at home here in Namibia. Although the beginning was bumpy, it was right to listen to the gut feeling, because we have everything we wanted – we have each other and our little family.” The “Bauer sucht Frau” couple have two children together. Leon, the son of the Heisers, was born in January 2021. His sister Alina was born in November 2022.
