Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov were probably the most dazzling couple in classical music. Now the opera singers are going their separate ways.

The opera world is losing its most glamorous couple. The two opera singers Anna Netrebko (52) and Yusif Eyvazov (47) have been going through life together since 2014. Now their marriage has failed. “After ten happy years together, we have made the difficult but friendly decision to separate,” they explained to “Austria Press Agency” in a statement.

The musicians want to continue to raise Netrebko’s son from his relationship with opera star Erwin Schrott (51) together. “We remain close friends, united in our shared love for Tiago,” they said. Joint performances are also to take place as planned. The ex-couple does not want to make any further comments on their separation.

Love in the spotlight

The Austrian-Russian Anna Netrebko has been considered one of the greatest classical music stars of our time since the early 2000s. “La Netrebko” met the Azerbaijani Yusif Eyvazov in 2014 at the opera in Rome. A year later they married in Vienna’s Palais Coburg. Shortly thereafter, the two became the dream couple of the classical music world, who did not shy away from any love aria.

The still-married couple can currently be seen together in a “Turandot” at La Scala in Milan. In August they will sing a “Tosca” together in the Arena in Verona. “We are looking forward to the already announced and future joint performances,” the musicians assured.
