Anonymous caller – Hospital Hall cordoned off due to bomb threat

An operation at the state hospital in Hall in Tirol caused a stir on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m.: The reason for this was a bomb threat that the police had received by phone. The area was cordoned off and searched. 40 police officers were on duty. At 10:15 p.m. the all-clear was given.

As police spokesman Stefan Eder told the “Tiroler Krone”, “at 6.30 p.m. the police station in Hall received an anonymous call threatening that there was a bomb in the hospital”. A large-scale operation followed with around 40 officers. “The area was cordoned off over a large area and searched by experts including sniffer dogs.” The search was negative, the caller is being investigated. However, the hospital was not evacuated. “Medical emergencies were diverted to the hospitals in Schwaz and Innsbruck during the operation,” Eder continued. At 10:15 p.m. the all-clear was given. “The search of the building was negative and the operation could be ended.” The spokesman did not want to announce the exact content of the threat and whether the anonymous caller was a man or a woman. “Further investigations into this are still ongoing.”
