To be more precise, we are talking about a job offer for the position of technical director. The game concerned? A certain Project Dolores. This is the first time that this name has emerged, and the least we can say is that the surprise is there. Between The Sims 4 and the development of 5, it’s quite surprising to see the firm tackle another project. And so, what do we know?
Well, not much. The post in question is well detailed, but it doesn’t reveal anything special about this Project Dolores. However, we still have some clues to take in. Among the points mentioned in the offer, we find one which requires “in-depth knowledge of The Sims and current Electronic Arts game technology”. This sentence can mean that we will face mechanics inspired by the license, with an emphasis on life simulation, or that the game will be part of the universe of the license. Of course, this is just a hypothesis, and should not be taken literally.
Now some fans are wondering. Indeed, in 2021, during the Nvidia hack, a game called Lost Astral was leaked. He was precisely under the management of Maxis.
