While the writers’ strike continues in Hollywood, the casting of Superman Legacy continues. Behind the scenes, a new candidate is approached to play Clark Kent.
As The Flash is about to be released in dark rooms, James Gunn and Peter Safran are concocting a new DCU. The goal is to reboot the extended cinematic universe to create a lasting and tightly-knit continuity like its competitor. It won’t be easy, but the new duo and Warner Bros. firmly believe in it. Superman Legacy will have the heavy task of launching this new DCU on July 11, 2025. Behind the scenes, James Gunn is looking for a new, younger Clark Kent to replace Henry Cavill. While one name stood out, another serious contender for the role is revealed.
A new name for Superman Legacy
The search for Henry Cavill’s replacement continues. Superman Legacy will feature an all-new Clark Kent. A younger version and with an accentuated sympathy capital, had explained the thinking heads of the new DCU. James Gunn confessed to wanting to find someone who has “ the same kindness and compassion than the Kryptonian hero. ” Someone you want to hug “, he had finally summarized. One name stood out from the first tests: David Corenswet. An actor little known to the general public, who stood out for his roles in the film Pearl and the Netflix series The Politician. Except that the competition is fierce and a new person would be at the top of the list to have the main role of Superman Legacy.
Variety indeed claims that Pierson Fodé would be one of the favorites. The 31-year-old actor is only known for his role in the soap opera The Bold & the Beautiful and his appearances in a few films including The Man From Toronto and the series It’s Time. According to media sources, he spontaneously sent a video showing his childhood on the farm in his small hometown: Moses Lake. The goal was very clear, to show his similarity to Clark Kent to land the role of Superman Legacy and it might work. James Gunn would indeed have appreciated what he saw, we are told. No decision would be made, however.
A possible choice that pleases
Online, Clark Kent and Superman fans are quite enthusiastic. Many believe that he gives off the aura that James Gunn was looking for. Some would prefer, however, that the choice stops on David Corenswet, whose resemblance to the actor stripped of his role pleased. One like the other, the two names seem despite everything to have the favor of the general public. We imagine that Warner and James Gunn will take the time to reflect as the stakes are high. As for The Witcher, the ousting of Henry Cavill has caused a lot of ink to flow. The choice of the next Superman will therefore most certainly be a decisive step for this new DCU and it will undoubtedly be necessary to wait until a definitive name is announced.
