Another Ubisoft game postponed to 2023/2024, the next Assassin’s Creed in danger?

By taking stock of its first quarter for this fiscal year 2022/2023, Ubisoft made a very big announcement by postponing the release ofAvatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which should be his big year-end game. The French publisher will therefore content itself with Skull and Bones as well as Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hopeand certainly also just dance for the end of 2022, but we learn that another title could have been released during this period, if it had not been postponed too.

The next Assassin’s Creed postponed to April 2023 at the earliest?

In the publisher’s balance sheet, we can see a mention indicating: ” We have also decided to release in 2023/2024 an unannounced premium game on a smaller scale, which was originally planned for 2022/2023. »

Ubisoft says no more about the nature of this unannounced game, but inevitably, speculation is rife. It is quite possible to think that this description could designate just dancegiven that it’s considered a premium game (which is the opposite of free-to-play) and a lesser project, but it’s also debatable whether that does not concern the next Assassin’s Creed Rift.

The rumors around this next episode rightly describe this game as being on a smaller scale than the previous gameslike a kind of transitional episode before the big piece that is Assassin’s Creed Infinity. The first echoes also pointed to a release of the game at the end of this fiscal year, with a delay that was very possible, so everything seems to match.

There are still some doubts about this theory.because even if this episode will be less massive than the others, it is hard to imagine Ubisoft describing a game Assassin’s Creed as “a smaller scale game”, unless it’s really a small spin-off. We will certainly know more during the Ubisoft Forward in September.
