We left Scott Lang, aka Ant-Man, at the end ofAvengers: Endgame in 2019. He is back in 2023 with a third solo film – after the 2015 and 2018 opuses – which will take him and his whole family to the mysterious and dangerous Quantum Realm.

The story ofAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Scott Lang, Hope Van Dyne — aka Ant-Man and the Wasp — and their daughter Cassie find themselves immersed in the subatomic dimension, along with Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne. They will interact with strange new creatures and embark on an odyssey that pushes them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible. They will especially face Kang the Conqueror, ambiguous leader of this new world.

Who is in charge ofAnt Man 3 ?

Peyton Reed, director of Ant Man (2015) and Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), returns behind the camera for this third film. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is written by Jeff Loveness, screenwriter of several episodes of the series rick and morty and the broadcast Jimmy Kimmel Live! He is also the pen of the future Avengers: The Kang Dynastyscheduled for 2025.

Like all Marvel productions, Kevin Feige is still producing, supported in particular by Stephen Broussard (Doctor Strange, Iron Man 3) and Mitchell Bell (Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Homecoming). In the rest of the technical team, we can also note the presence of the composer Christophe Beck (Wanda vision, Hawkeye). A 100% homemade production, therefore!

What release date?

The film was shot in early 2021 in Turkey, and in particular in the Cappadocia region. Then the film continued its production from June to November 2022 at the historic Pinewood studios in England, famous for having hosted the sagas james bond and Star Wars.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is expected in French theaters on February 15, 2023, two days before its release in the United States. The film is the first of the MCU’s Phase 5, which is due to end in September 2024 with Blade.

What casting for Ant Man 3 ?

This Ant Man 3 will take over the majority of the cast of the first two films: we thus find Paul Rudd (Ant Man, Ron Burgundy, 40 years user’s Guide) in the lead role, alongside Evangeline Lilly (Lost, The Hobbit), but also Michael Douglas (Wall Street, Basic Instinct) and Michelle Pfeiffer (batman the challenge, scarface). Cassie Lang, the hero’s daughter already present in the previous films, has been recast and is embodied this time by Kathryn Newton (Big Little Lies).

The addition (of size) of this new opus is of course Jonathan Majors (Lovecraft Country, Creed 3), incarnation of the fierce Kang the Conqueror. Already appeared in the series Loki, he plays here a variation of the character, coming from another universe. Check out the updated cast below:
