Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and co. reap enthusiastic reactions after the world premiere of “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania”.

Star show in Los Angeles: “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” has celebrated its premiere. The third part about the mini superhero will start in German cinemas on February 15, 2023. “Ant-Man 3” heralds the fifth phase in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Leading actor Paul Rudd (53) walked the red carpet to the Regency Village Theater with his wife Julie Yaeger (54). Michael Douglas (78), who once again embodies Ant-Man’s father-in-law, made the world premiere a family affair. Wife Catherine Zeta Jones (53) posed in a strapless dress at the side of the star buttoned up to the neck. The glamor couple had their son Dylan Michael Douglas (22) in tow. Bill Murray (72), who plays a supporting role in “Ant-Man 3”, faced the photographers solo.

Positive critic reactions for “Ant-Man 3”

The journalists present at the premiere were not yet allowed to publish detailed reviews. However, the critics were allowed to react on social media. And they were definitely positive. Some called “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” the “weirdest” entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe yet. Erik Davis calls Ant-Man’s excursion into a bizarre microcosm on twitter a “psychedelic roller coaster ride”.

The journalist felt a whiff of “Star Wars” in the film, agreeing with other critics. No film in the MCU would have felt so much like classic science fiction as “Ant-Man 3”.

Critics celebrate Kang actor Jonathan Majors

The professional observers agree in their praise for Jonathan Majors (33). The “Lovecraft Country” star embodies Ant-Man’s adversary Kang. The “Conqueror” is to be built into the next super villain in the Marvel cosmos, including as an antagonist in the planned for 2025 “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty”.

“It’s captivating, it’s daunting and it’s already a top-notch performance,” writes Nora Dominick from “Buzzfeed” via majors. “I love the complexity he brings to Kang with just one look.”

Dempsey Pilott also lifts Jonathan Majors on twitter out. For him, the real star of the film is the screenplay by Jeff Loveness (33). It shows how “pretty weird and mysterious” the Marvel Cinematic Universe can still be in Phase 5.
