Ant-Man: When is the third part coming?

The Corona crisis has also upset the Marvel road map. What is the status of the third part of "Ant-Man"?

When will Paul Rudd (51) be seen as "Ant-Man" next time? The first part with him in the title role was released in 2015. The second part, "Ant-Man and the Wasp", provided a crucial clue in 2018 on how the defeated superheroes can reverse their defeat in "Avengers: Endgame" (2019). There should be a third part for Scott Lang. This gives "Ant-Man" a trilogy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). But when should the film be released?

Third part of "Ant-Man" only in 2023?

Already in November 2019, the well-informed US industry newspaper "The Hollywood Reporter" reported that Peyton Reed (56) will also direct the third part. At that time it was said that it should be assumed that both Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly (40) alias Hope van Dyne will be there again. Michael Douglas (75) told the "Collider" in the same month that he was also a Dr. Henry "Hank" Pym will return. At the time, Douglas also said that filming of "Ant-Man 3" should begin in January 2021.

It is still unclear whether this plan will be changed due to the coronavirus crisis. With a start of filming at the beginning of 2021, the cinema would probably start in 2022. However, it is quite possible that the ongoing corona pandemic could delay filming and the theatrical release – possibly even in 2023.

At the end of June, Paul Rudd remained somewhat vague in conversation with his former Marvel colleague Chris Evans (39, "Captain America: The First Avenger") for the US industry newspaper "Variety". When asked if there would be a third part, the actor replied: "Yes, that's the idea!" When asked about a possible start of shooting soon, Rudd only said: "I can't say anything about it, Chris. You know this world. You know how it works." So Marvel fans have to wait and see.
