The case had greatly interested the French. Jack Sion, a 63-year-old man, posed as a young architect on dating sites. He met his future victims thanks in particular to a photo of a model and another name: Anthony Laroche. He thus attracted young women and blindfolded them so that they would not identify him. He then committed rape. In 2014, one of the victims filed a complaint, then two. During the investigation, the police found a notebook in which 300 women’s names were written. During his trial, he was tried for “surprise rape”.
Sentenced by the assizes of the Hérault to eight years in prison, Jack Sion had appealed. The man will thus be judged on appeal by the Assizes of the Alpes-Maritimes in 2023. During his trial, the false model had denied the charges against him. “All those who came to my house wanted to experience something erotic, an encounter with a stranger. The mask is only of interest if you don’t know the person. I found it more erotic, the dominant male, the more submissive woman, the ladies like it a lot, moreover, they love it”, he had explained.
The questioning of the accusations by Jack Sion
The false Anthony Laroche thus questioned the accusations the victimsas his lawyer confided: “By agreeing to the script, they agreed to only find out their partner’s identity after sex. The plaintiffs could remove their blindfolds, the scheme could be defeated, it did not cheat their consent.” For his part, the Advocate General had dropped: “Jack Sion has been a ladies’ man all his life and at some point he realizes that it doesn’t work anymore. For me, he is a serial rapist. Someone who is a liar, manipulator, a particularly cynical predator and which has no questioning”.
