Anti-cellulite: are the techniques to get rid of it really effective? : Current Woman Le MAG

Whatever the morphology, age, eating habits or pace of life, few women are spared from cellulite.

Adipose cellulite appears when the fat cells (also called adipocytes) located under the skin become enlarged. Result ? The lymphatic and blood vessels are more and more compressed and this causes poor circulation of fluids. The toxins present in the body are no longer eliminated properly and accumulate excessively. Subcutaneous inflammation forms. Cellulite appears and the dimples are now visible. Adipose cellulite, also called "orange peel", is generally found in the buttocks, thighs, calves and stomach. Although not very aesthetic, it remains painless. The skin becomes less firm and less flexible and has an irregular appearance when it is lightly pinched.

Sport Eliminates Cellulite

True. Sport helps melt fat while promoting the development of muscle mass. The skin becomes firmer and more toned, which visibly limits the orange peel appearance. Little by little, the silhouette is sculpted and redrawn. We favor, for example, brisk walking, running, aquagym or even skipping rope. Performed regularly, these exercises reactivate blood and lymphatic circulation while eliminating excess fat stored by the body.

Cellulite can disappear thanks to an adapted diet

False. Unfortunately, no miracle diet exists to permanently eliminate cellulite. Naturally, a varied and balanced diet will limit fat storage, but it will necessarily have to be combined with other actions such as physical activity. We absolutely avoid processed products that are too rich in fat and refined sugars and we focus on fruits and vegetables, whole grains, fish and lean meats.

Being well hydrated contributes to the elimination of adipose cellulite

True. Contrary to what you imagine, hydrating your body throughout the day does not promote water retention. On the contrary ! Drinking an average of 1.5 liters of mineral or tap water per day helps maintain excellent circulation of fluids. The toxins are eliminated more easily and the orange peel appearance thus tends to disappear little by little.

Anti-cellulite creams: the miracle solution to permanently get rid of cellulite

False. To eliminate cellulite and fight against its recurrence, an anti-cellulite cream is not enough. Used alone, it will not burn the fat stored in the body. On the other hand, if it is accompanied by a regular practice of sport, a varied and balanced diet and continuous hydration, the anti-cellulite cream (generally based on active caffeine concentrates) is an excellent supplement, especially if applied with a palpate-roll massage.

Cold water promotes the elimination of cellulite

True. Cold water helps fight against one of the consequences of cellulite: poor circulation. At the end of the shower or bath, it is a matter of passing a jet of cold water over the legs for a few seconds, starting from the ankles to reach the hips gently. This simple and effective technique reactivates the blood circulation. Gradually, the skin appears smoother and more toned.
