Anti-competitive practices: SAP in the sights of the French Competition Authority

Cigref, the CIO club of large French companies, had filed several referrals to the Competition Authority during the summer of 2021. He suspected potentially anti-competitive practices on the part of certain suppliers in the sector of digital services to professional users.

So where is this file? “At this stage, the Autorité de la concurrence has decided to favor the investigation of the referral relating to SAP”, mentions Cigref, which specifies that it is providing “its full cooperation to the Autorité de la concurrence to facilitate the investigation of This folder “.

These referrals “do not pursue the objective of sanctioning the suppliers concerned, but of putting an end to the practices deemed unfair, even anti-competitive, of which their customers are victims, in particular the members of Cigref”, assures the association. The purpose of these referrals is to request arbitration on these practices.

In April 2021, Cigref and CISPE published 10 principles for fair software licensing for customers using the cloud.
