“Anti-Semitism resurfaces”
Emmanuel Macron did not say, in this speech, if he intended to participate in the great march against anti-Semitism on Sunday, at the call of the presidents of the National Assembly and the Senate, at which Prime Minister Élisabeth will be present. LFI and the RN singled out
He singled out those who “prefer to remain ambiguous on the question of anti-Semitism for the sake of flattering new communitarianisms”, targeting the radical left party La France insoumise. And those who “claim to support our compatriots of Jewish faith by confusing the rejection of Muslims and the support of Jews, by refusing, these very people, to clearly condemn their past position and all the definitive words of yesterday”, in allusion on the far right.
Without naming him, Emmanuel Macron attacks the president of the National Rally Jordan Bardella who estimated on Sunday that the founder of the National Front Jean-Marie Le Pen was “not anti-Semitic”, despite his multiple convictions, in particular for having qualified gas chambers “detail” of History.
