Antin: strategic investment in SNRG

(CercleFinance.com) – Antin Infrastructure Partners announced on Tuesday that it has concluded a strategic investment in SNRG, a British developer and operator of smart grids.

In a press release, the private equity firm explains that it has taken a majority stake in the company as part of the development of its NextGen fund, dedicated to the infrastructure of tomorrow.

SNRG offers a ‘one-stop-shop’ including solar panels, heat pumps and grid connection allowing companies to decarbonise their buildings.

Antin points out that buildings alone generate nearly 20% of CO2 emissions in the United Kingdom due to their heavy dependence on fossil fuels, starting with gas, particularly for heating.

SNRG was created in 2018 with the backing of British energy distributor Centrica, which will retain a minority stake in the company.

The transaction, the financial terms of which have not been disclosed, is expected to be finalized by the end of April.
