During his new filming in Ivory Coast, the accomplished adventurer was indeed the victim of an accident while he was going to a plantation, as reported by the Parisian. A misadventure to which he returned in daily life, explaining that his right leg had slipped while the left remained stuck in the roots. Results of the races: a fracture of the fibula and a repatriation in order to avoid complications.

A decision taken reluctantly by Antoine de Maximy, who after his fall first thought of filming, as he explained: “Before asking myself where I was hurting, I first thought of filming the scene. The guys in the village started putting ointment on me, massaging me and twisting my ankle all over the place”. And to explain: “I wanted to continue. But I limped badly. We opted for repatriation. It could have become necrotic or glued askew”.

Repatriated to France, Antoine de Maximy, 62, was finally operated on. “They put screws and a plate in my leg. At my age, it’s better that way. I have it for a month, a month and a half. It can go faster, ”said Antoine de Maximy, who shared on his Instagram account, the x-ray of his ankle before and after the operation.
To stay active, Antoine de Maximy revealed the means he found to continue to move despite everything. “For now, I get around on a crutch with a walking boot or on a wheeled office chair at home. I also took the scooter back. This is not what will affect my morale, ”concluded the globetrotter, who seems to always be on the move.
