The New Zealand actor Antony Starr, revealed in the series Banshee and The Boys, was arrested in a state of intoxication leaving a bar in Spain on Wednesday March 2. Accused of assaulting a bar owner, the actor was given a 12-month suspended prison sentence.
The antihero of The Boys turns into a bad boy. The actor Anthony Starrwho plays Homelander in the Amazon Prime series, was sentenced to 12 months suspended prison sentence for attacking the owner of a bar of the Costa Blanca brand. At the time of his arrest, he was then blind drunk.
The New Zealand comedian was in Spain for the filming of Guy Ritchie’s next film, The Interpreter. He was arrested this Wednesday, March 2, in the early morning, by the police who had been warned of a riot near the bar. Antony Starr’s victim is a 21 year old young man. The latter told the authorities that he had received two punches before having a glass broken in the face. He was taken to hospital where he received four stitches.
Antony Starr forced to pay his victim quickly
Antony Starr was tried in the court of Alicante. “A speedy trial eventually took place and the Alicante Court of Inquiry sentenced the arrested man to 12 months in prison and a fine for injuries. (…) The detainee’s state of drunkenness was taken into account as a mitigating circumstance. The sentence was the result of an agreement between the prosecution and the man who was subsequently sentenced. (…)”, said a member of the court this Thursday. In addition to the suspended prison sentence, the 46-year-old comedian, revealed in the series banshee, was forced to pay 4,000 pounds sterling (about 5,000 euros) in compensation. Antony Starr will only escape punishment if he does not commit another crime within two years and pays his victim within 72 hours.
