AnTuTu reveals the top 10 most powerful Android smartphones for April 2024

Every month, benchmarking titan AnTuTu reveals its ranking of the most powerful Android smartphones in two categories: high-end flagships and more affordable “sub-flagship” models. Here is the ranking for April 2024.

After a March 2024 ranking which saw the arrival of new smartphones, AnTuTu has just published a new top 10 of the most powerful Android devices of the moment. Like last month, the latest tables for April 2024 are gaming smartphones that lead the pack in terms of raw performance.

Starting with the elite flagship, the ROG Phone 8 Pro from Asus, a high-performance device that once again takes first place. Equipped with Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, this gaming-focused phone has made its way to a huge AnTuTu score 2,120,210 points.

What are the fastest Android smartphones at the moment?

The iQOO 12 comes in second with 2,090,252 points, closely followed by the RedMagic 9 Pro+ gaming phone in third with a score of 2,080,678 points. The X Fold 3 Pro, Vivo’s premium foldable phone, ranks fourth with an average of 2,070,888. It’s very rare to see a foldable smartphone achieve such a high score, notably because of their usually more modest cooling.

Actually, the entire AnTuTu top 10 is a real victory for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Seven of the devices listed feature Qualcomm’s latest high-end chip, with the remaining three powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 chip. The first of these MediaTek devices is the vivo Oppo Find X7 Ultra (2,025,133), vivo

What are the most powerful mid-range smartphones in April 2024?

On the mid-range front, it is OnePlus which wins the prize this time with the Ace 3V and its Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 processor. This “flagship killer” has took the lead among all models under $600 in April with an impressive average AnTuTu score of 1,441,870 points.

The Realme GT Neo6 SE powered by the same 7+ Gen 3 chip came in second place, while the Redmi K70E powered by the Dimensity 8300 grabbed the third spot. The Realme GT Neo5 SE and Redmi Note 12 Turbo, powered by Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2, take fourth and fifth place, respectively. As a reminder, the latter is sold in France as Poco F5.

From there, it’s a group of devices equipped with Dimensity 8200 technology, like the Oppo Reno11 5G (6th), iQOO Neo7 SE (7th), iQOO Z8 (8th), and Redmi Note 12T Pro (9th), who takes over. Finally, the late 2022 OnePlus Ace used the Dimensity 8100 Max to rise to 10th place.

On the mid-range, the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 seems exceptionally powerful and efficient for its category, in some cases beating last year’s high-end 8 Gen 2 chips. We will also have to closely monitor Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which should soon be used in several smartphones, including the next Nothing Phone. It already powers Xiaomi’s Redmi 3 Turbo, which will arrive as Poco F6 to us with some modifications, but this one strangely does not appear in the ranking.

While benchmarks don’t tell the whole story of a smartphone, they provide a useful insight into the raw power under the hood. And if maximizing raw power is your priority, the devices that ended April on the AnTuTu podium should be very interesting options, especially the newer models. Unfortunately, not all of these devices are available in France.
