Any help came too late – senior citizen (80) died in fire in Graz

A major fire on Friday afternoon in Graz-St. Peter claimed one life. According to information from the fire department, an 80-year-old woman died in her kitchen, while two other people were able to save themselves in time.

Apparently the fire started in the kitchen on the ground floor of the house, after which the flames spread into the attic. “When the fire brigade arrived, the house was already fully ablaze,” said the Graz professional fire brigade. The BF and the state capital’s volunteer fire brigade tried their best to extinguish the building with 40 men. For an 80-year-old lady, any help came too late. She was found dead in the kitchen. House is “uninhabitable” Two other people, apparently lodgers, were able to free themselves. According to emergency services, the house is uninhabitable.
