AOL is down: statement from the operators – finally a solution is available

Since the service, users have been reporting to us that there are problems with Yahoo Mail and that there are problems with the free mailer. AOL is also having increasing difficulties with the app and logging in there.

As the numerous people affected report to our fault reporter, the complications mainly occur in the Android app. The iOS version seems to work fine most of the time. The web version also runs largely without any problems.

Apparently there seems to be a major disruption in the underlying user management. After all, both services are managed under one roof. An official statement about the problems is now finally available on the X platform. An update for the app has now been released and is said to be the solution to the problem.

However, it can take up to 24 hours for all users to receive the update. Because of this, you may still experience restrictions in the app. According to the operators, it can also help if you uninstall the apps from your smartphone and reinstall them again. Clearing the app caches can also be a solution.

The simple solution: switch to the web client

Alternatively, you can still switch to the web client to avoid the problems with the app. Simply log in using the AOL web client. We tested it and were able to log in without any problems. However, there is a possibility that it may not work for everyone affected. However, it is definitely worth a try.
