59 million views on YouTube: Udo Lindenberg and Apache 207 can look forward to another award for their hit “Komet”.

Apache 207 (26) and Udo Lindenberg (77) have in Germany released the most successful music video of the year on YouTube. The platform announced this. Accordingly, their song “Komet” had been viewed 59 million times in Germany by November 1, 2023 – more than any other video with German musicians this year.

The unusual collaboration has already brought the rapper and the panic rocker several highs this year: Udo Lindenberg has “Komet” to thank for its first ever top position in the Official German Single Charts. The single has also been there longer than any other song in Germany to date – and every English-language song. The song also tops the Apple Music annual charts in Germany.

The click record for “Komet” on YouTube was to be expected – but the people behind the music were now also recognized for this. Lindenberg, Chris James, Jumpa, SIRA, Volkan Yaman, Marco Tscheschlok, who all co-wrote the song, received the “Songwriter of the Year” award. The producers Jumpa and SIRA were also named “Producer of the Year”.

Nina Chuba is “Newcomer of the Year”

In the “Female Superstar” category, Ayliva (25) won, and she even beat superstar Helene Fischer (39) with her clicks. Nina Chuba (25) became Best Newcomer. She also collected millions of YouTube views with the songs from her debut album “Glas”.

All winners were determined based on YouTube views from Germany and are therefore “a vote of German music fans,” as YouTube reports. The awards were presented on Tuesday evening at an awards dinner in the Berlin restaurant Grill Royal, where Nina Chuba, Kontra K. (36), Otto Waalkes (75), Ski Aggu (26) and Nico Santos (30) were present, among others .
