Who is Newcastle?
Lamont Craig was not like the other fathers in the neighborhood. True, he dropped his children off at school and imitated several voices when telling them a story each evening. But above all, Lamont had many secrets. Thirteen years earlier, during the last Great War, Lamont had been among the best soldiers in the IMC. But, having found that his camp was more part of the problem than the solution, he decided to change his life and desert, leaving behind his sister Anita and his real name: Jackson Williams.
“Lamont” settled in an idyllic little town called Harris Valley, where he fell in love and got married. Harris Valley was so peaceful that there was no need for law enforcement and any form of government. The city only needed its knight in service, Newcastle. But the knight in question was also hiding a dark secret.
Newcastle had indeed sold Harris Valley without the knowledge of its inhabitants to pay its debts and, one day, its creditors disembarked to seek their due. Killers from the Forgotten Families came to eliminate Newcastle, unable to honor its debts, under the watchful eye of Lamont. Lamont defeated the killers with his military expertise, but all was not settled. The leader of the mercenaries told Lamont that his problems were just beginning and that other killers would come to do their dirty work.It was around this time that Lamont came up with a dangerous solution. By appropriating the helmet and armor of Newcastle, he could take on his identity and participate in the qualifications to achieve what Newcastle had never managed to do: compete in the Apex Games. By winning the prize pool at stake, he would have no trouble repaying Newcastle’s debts. But he thus runs the risk of being recognized by his little sister Bangalore who knows him under the name of Jackson Williams.
