Apex Legends: The quietest and loudest Legends revealed

Respawn’s battle royale is not known for offering advanced sound design, and the community will easily agree on this point. In fact, the choice of a Legend is not made on his footsteps, since the sound is not the essential thing to master to glimpse the final victory in Apex Legends, unlike PUBG for example, where footsteps can be a good indicator. But one player still took the time to conduct a long and comprehensive Legends footsteps experiment.

As you can see on Reddit, user Pescodar189 has offered a real rundown of the full scale decibels (dB FS) of each Legend. The latter was not content to simply play and record the sound for each character, since he tested all the Legends on three surfaces (earth, metal and stone), but also on two cards, Edges of the world and Broken Moon. Several computers and several audio settings were also tested, with the aim of obtaining the most reliable results possible.

The quietest and loudest Legends in Apex Legends

So, after much testing, it’s Ash that makes the least noise, with 5 to 8 dB less than the other Legends. In all the tests carried out, it was either the quietest or the second. In some cases, Seer is also very quietapproaching Ash’s stats, but in others he was approaching average.

The other interesting options to attract a little less attention are Revenant, while crouching, or Horizon, also quite discreet. Conversely, Bloodhound, Gibraltar and Octane make more noise and rarely go unnoticed. Besides, whether he has his speed boost active or not, Octane’s noise remains the same. Last important point, all Legends can be heard up to 95 meters away, except Ash (74 m) and Seer (86 m).
