At 18, Mara discovered the wreckage of the GDS Vantage. Against her mother’s wishes, she slipped inside to find that she had been lied to. His mother had not grown up on Págos: she had been taken there aboard the GDS Vantage as a prisoner. Unfortunately reactivated by the intrusion, the ship collapsed into a crevasse, trapping the injured Mara. Her mother only found her thanks to a baby bat picked up by Mara, which circled above the crevasse with Mara’s whistle in its claws. When Xenia reached her daughter, Mara’s wounds were too serious for her to treat. In order to save his life, she triggered the prison ship’s escape beacon, knowing that this meant she would be imprisoned again.
