(CercleFinance.com) – The European Commission announces that it has authorized the acquisition of joint control of Univar Solutions by investment funds ultimately controlled by Apollo Management and Platinum Falcon B 2018 RSC Limited.
Univar is a global distributor of chemicals and ingredients, as well as a provider of value-added services to customers in a wide range of industries.
Apollo is a wholly owned subsidiary of Apollo Global Management, Inc., which is an asset manager and provider of retirement services for individuals and institutional investors.
Platinum Falcon is an investment holding company. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, an independent investment institution established by the government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would raise no competition concerns, given its negligible impact on the market.
