Appeal after judgment – now even life imprisonment threatens

20 years imprisonment including induction in the institution: That was the non-final judgment for Michael L. (32) for attempted murder, announced last Friday in the Salzburg regional court. As reported, the Dutchman tried to kill a businessman (40) in Zell am See at the beginning of July 2020.

The 32-year-old fired eight shots at his victim, leaving him to die in a forest. The prosecutor emphasized that the victim survived “borders on a miracle”. She is now appealing and demanding life imprisonment. The convicted person also combats the verdict with an appeal for annulment and a criminal appeal. Means: It is now the turn of the Supreme Court.
