Apple: a Halloween keynote for iMac and MacBook Pro M3

Without warning, Apple announced a new product launch event for October 30, 2023. Based on the first teaser, the Apple firm would be talking about computers. Rumors are also leaning towards the officialization of new iMac and MacBook Pro with the latest generation of chips: the M3.

The rumors about a keynote at the end of the month were correct. As a reminder, Mark Gurman believed in it and announced a conference for the end of the month, October 30 or 31. Finally, the American company will have opted for an event taking place one day before Halloween in the United States, i.e. October 30.

For the French, the date will be very different because of the time difference. While the event will take place at 5 p.m. (west coast) / 8 p.m. (east coast) in Uncle Sam’s country, it will take place at 1 a.m. on October 31 for France, due to the time difference .

As a nod to Halloween, Apple subtly named the keynote “Scary Fast” – translating into French as “Frightfully Fast”. Without much surprise, we should hear about performance, and more precisely that of the Apple Silicon chips embedded in new Macs. The official conference page confirms this by transforming the Apple logo into Finder, the file manager under macOS.

According to Mark Gurman, and contrary to what was initially said, the keynote would reveal iMacs with M3 chips and MacBook Pros with M3 Pro and M3 Max chips. Ming-Chi Kuo explains in a post Twitter/X the focus of the event would be around MacBook Pros.

Unfortunately, no iPad would be on the program for this keynote. Breaking with tradition, the Apple firm would wait until spring 2024, with potentially new iPad Pros with OLED screen and M3 chip or even more powerful iPad Airs with a larger screen.
