This week was marked by various announcements from Apple, but also by a potential price drop for the Tesla Model Y and by new wireless headphones from Bose. We take stock.
iPhone 14, Watch Ultra, AirPods Pro 2… complete summary of the Apple keynote
The big event of this week in new technologies was obviously the Apple keynote of September 7th. The opportunity for the American manufacturer to unveil its new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, but also three connected watches, the Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch SE (2022) and Apple Watch Ultra. A new pair of wireless headphones was also introduced, the AirPods Pro 2.
The opportunity also to discover certain technologies that were already found in the Android ecosystem, but highlighted on the new iPhones, as well as to go around the first grips. The new Always On mode also received a technical explanation and we did not fail to spot some unpleasant surprises the day after the keynote.
Tesla Model Y: its price could drop drastically in the coming months
We have known for a few months that Tesla wants to make its Tesla Model Y the best-selling car in the world. It first went through a particularly aggressively priced launch in Europe, but that could ramp up in the coming months. Indeed, Tesla would intend to offer batteries at a much more affordable price. The firm intends to switch to 4680 battery models, the price of which should be 40% lower than the price of current batteries. However, batteries being one of the most expensive elements on an electric car, this could make it possible to reduce the price of the Tesla Model Y by around 8% in the coming months.
QC Earbuds II: Bose launches its benchmark noise-canceling headphones
In parallel with the Apple keynote and the presentation of the AirPods Pro 2, Bose presented this week its new high-end wireless headphones, the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II. Launched at 299 euros – the same price as the new models from Apple – these headphones benefit from a refined design and noise reduction that the manufacturer describes as the best on the market. They also benefit from an autonomy of one week and a new system of more comfortable tips. We will test them soon to give you our detailed opinion.
